Reminiscent of a New York City loft apartment/gentleman's club in The Thomas Crown Affair with plenty of vintage touches and an ever evolving art collection. With its high ceilings, Chesterfields and fireplace the lounge bar is our most McQueen influenced room.
Head Chef, Anupam Som has drawn on his American roots to create a largely Stateside-inspired menu. And as McQueen takes its name and inspiration from the original King of Cool, it's only natural that the restaurant reflects an American flavour.
Theo Von Ungern-Sternberg has created a list of simple, cool, no frills delicious drinks inspired by McQueen and the golden age of Hollywood. The drinks are influenced by Hollywood circa 1920s to 1960s. The fruit led cocktail phenomenon of the 80s and beyond has taken a backseat to Old School flavour and balance led drinks. The fruity element many like has been incorporated using liqueurs and bitters to give dimension to the drinks as opposed to masking flavours. All the house drinks are American based classics with a slick twist. We use spirit bases that were available at the time (1920s-1960s); rum, brandy, gin and whiskies.
Simply put this is boutique clubbing at its very best. Creating a feel for 1960's rock'n'roll glamour, the club is a unique and unprecedented when it comes to throwing a party. "I live for myself and I answer to nobody".
With a stage set for the very best bands, a DJ booth unmatched combined with booths and tables for those who want to make and impression in style, its not surprising that the club really has become the place to be in the late hours of night and early hours of the morning. With the likes of Carl Cox, Snow Patrol and Project Paravana joining the queue to play in front of the coolest crowd in town, its not suprising that club nights at McQueen have become the talk of the town.
